Teach a Man to Fish Initiative
Meaningful temporary employment, training, and momentum while pursuing long-term careers.
Square Blue Foundation is proud to announce the launch of an innovative, forward-thinking program designed to support individuals who are currently unemployed. For years, our founders have quietly connected members of the community with meaningful job opportunities. Now, we are taking that commitment one step further.
Through the Teach a Man to Fish Initiative, Square Blue Foundation is establishing a new company operating under its auspices. This company will provide meaningful, temporary employment to individuals while they actively pursue long-term, suitable career opportunities.
While we may not always be able to place candidates in their exact field of expertise, we will match them with comparable and relevant roles that allow them to maintain and strengthen their professional skills. Although compensation may not fully reflect a candidate’s prior experience or earning history, participants will receive a dependable living wage during their job search. In addition, on-site vocational training and professional development opportunities will be provided to enhance employability.
How It Works
Individuals seeking employment submit their résumés to Square Blue Foundation. Qualified candidates are then placed in structured roles within the newly formed company, either remotely or on-site, depending on the nature of the work.
For example:
- A programmer may complete software development or coding projects.
- An accountant may manage bookkeeping or financial reporting.
- A sales professional may assist with fundraising or business development initiatives.
Participants earn a living wage, gain current work experience, and avoid résumé gaps that can hinder future employment prospects. They will also receive strong professional references to support their continued job search. To protect participants’ privacy and professional positioning, the company will operate under its own distinct name.
This initiative is not about providing handouts. It is about restoring dignity, preserving momentum, and equipping individuals with the tools they need to succeed. By addressing résumé gaps, providing vocational training, offering practical experience, and supplying credible references, the Teach a Man to Fish Initiative empowers individuals to reenter the workforce with confidence.
With your support, we can transform periods of unemployment into opportunities for growth, stability, and renewed purpose.
